TCRC
TEAM PHOTO AND PRESENTATION.
The Tri Cities Road Club met this past Tuesday at Lamar School
for a Club/Team photo-op by up and coming race photographer
Bart
Nave. 38 members assembled in the new team kit to great
fanfare from the local community. The Mayor of Taylor Bridge was
thrilled with the return of the black and red, and two weeks
early to boot!
After the photo shoot, the club did a much deserved promenade
lap around the course. Lining the course were many exited on
lookers happy to see the return of the top cycling team in upper
east Tennessee. With the long winter behind and the return
of the colorful riders it is a sure sign that spring has
returned to the fields and dales of the Nolichucky Valley. Some
of the locals where so exited to see the riders again they ran
around in the fields in bovine glee. Yeah Baby! 24 weeks of pack
ridin' to go. Click images below for larger pic.

TCRC Has Strong Opening Weekend.
The first weekend of road racing in Tennessee began March 8th with the Spring
Forward TT and the Maryville Criteruim on March 9th. Saturday Team TCRC attended
the Spring Forward Time Trial in Rutledge, TN. It should have been named the Ice
time trial. With temps in the 30's wind and rain.
Former 2007 Tennessee State Road Race Champion had a great start this weekend!
Jeremy Keller started 2008 where he left off finishing 1st in the Maryville
Criterium. Jeremy got off the front in a 3 man breakaway and lapped the field.
All the TCRC Team members gave their best effort and turned in
good results. View the TT results

Let Levi Ride!
Those
Frenchies are trying to hedge the race again by not letting the
top riders race in this years TDF. ASO, the owners and
organizers of the Tour, have decided to exclude Team Astana. No
one with the team was part of Astana in 2007 which was riddled
with scandal. Astana is essentially Discovery, and has the
winner of the 2007 tour and third place finisher US
National Champion Levi Leipheimer on the team. If you are
interested in seeing Levi in the tour click

to sign the petition.
TCRC Race Team

Tennessee State Cyclocross Championship Results Posted
Results for the Championship have been posted at
TBRA. Low and behold we had another podium! Kingsley was the
third Tennessean across the line, so he will receive the bronze
medal in the CX4 category. TCRC had a podium in every Category
except Wm Pro1/2/3 and CX 3.
TCRC Cyclocross Team
Brings Home a Championship Jersey and 5 Podium Finishes!
The TCRC CX Team traveled to Nashville on January 13, for the
2007/2008 Cyclocross Championships. Mike Seek won the first ever
State Championship jersey for the single speed category, leading
most of the race and finishing well ahead of the silver medal
winner. Look for Mike to be sporting the red, white, and blue
jersey during the 2008/2009 season.
The course was very difficult, technical and physically
demanding. Consisting of three forced dismounts, technical muddy
turns, sand, and enough course wide mud to be worthy of the
fields of Flanders. Lap times on the 2.1 mile course were 10:00
or more. It was definitely a championship course, and winning
here was a real achievement. Dan Werle, the race organizer did a
great job on the course and promoting the race.
I
must say I'm very proud of all the TCRC riders. Everyone stayed
and help take down the course which was very kind since, Dan set
the whole course up by himself. Thank you all for helping out
and racing so hard you set a very good example.
